Allergen Wise

Overview

AllergenWise is a startup helping restaurants earn allergen safety certification. Restaurants complete a training course, receive a window seal, and diners can scan its QR code to verify the restaurant’s credentials in real time.

Ocean Development designed and built the product end to end, from the brand and every screen through to a live, fully functional React web application.

The Challenge

Allergen safety depends on trust. A certification only means something if restaurant owners find it credible and diners can confirm it quickly. The product had to work for two different people: an owner completing training, and a diner who wants an answer before they order.

As a startup, AllergenWise also needed to launch with a product that felt established from day one.

Design

Ray led design from head to toe. He created the brand identity and logo, built the design system, and designed every screen across the training, certification, and verification experiences.

The result feels credible and approachable at the same time, and every component was designed with development in mind so the build could match the design exactly.

Development

Jaden handled the full-stack development, building the platform as a fully functional React web application. That included turning the design system into a production front end and building the backend that powers certification and verification.

Because design and engineering worked as one team, the product that launched matches the product that was designed.

The Result

AllergenWise went from concept to a live platform with a complete brand, a cohesive design system, and a production-ready web app. Restaurants have a clear path to certification, and diners have a fast way to verify it.
